She has been following Tracey’s story since the beginning and although she doesn’t have any diagnosed auto-immune disease, she joined to help with weight-loss and control inflammation. What is your WHY for joining The Best You and eating AIP? Do you have a specific diagnosis?
My main focus was to actually lose a little weight. I have struggled with that since my teens. I have had my ups and downs, but nothing was ever permanent except for the extra weight.
I just kept telling myself, I guess I’m supposed to be this size. I am big-boned and always weighed more than I look. I was the lucky one (haha). I was never diagnosed with anything. Well, as I have gotten older, my knees had been bothering me and had a lot of inflammation. I thought, this could help my gut, and my knees, so let’s give this a try. It is doing its job!

How did you learn about The Best You?
I have been following Tracey for years on Tracey’s Fancy. I also went to school with her and completely trusted in all that she had to share with everyone. I watched her video when she first found out she was sick and have been there since day one.

Share your successes!!
As of today, I have dropped only 20 lbs, but I feel great. I went down from a tight 10 to between 6/8. I’m told that I look younger and vibrant. This program has taught me how to eat better and even ventured out to eat lots of vegetables that I would have never tried before, and I love them.

Have you re-introduced any foods yet? If yes, what and what were the results?
I have re-introduced egg, cheese, and nuts. I don’t eat them all the time, just every once in a while. So far so good.
What tricks/tips made this life easier?
For me, I have had to plan, plan, plan. When I travel, I normally bring along what I need to eat for that day or days. If it’s just a day trip, I take snacks and eat what I can where I’m at.

How do you stay AIP compliant outside your home (work, social gatherings, traveling, etc)?
I have to bring my food with me. When I don’t have it, we do a grocery store run. If we eat out, I just eat meat with salad or veggies.
What other lifestyle implements have helped with your success (sleep, stress management, exercise)?
I was getting very good sleep when I first started, but I have to admit, I like to stay up late and watch TV, so I get about 6-7 hours a night. My exercise is walking & yard work.
What advice would you give to someone just starting The Best You?
Do not expect overnight success. You didn’t get your body in the situation that it’s in today overnight, and it will not heal overnight.
